This was our third away win in a row. The pitch was very heavy and bumpy. Both sides were nervy early on as this was vital for both sides.Golds lost Ryan Hudson and Liam waller early on both to knee injuries. Jon Hendrick in goal had one of his easiest games of the season mainly due to those in front of him that battled for evrything. This gave them the platform to go on and win the match. After twenty minutes a cross from the right by Waller saw the home keeper fumble the ball for Cooper to sweep home. Golds then looked the better side mainly restricting the home side to long shots. There was a lot of good hold up play by Golds frontmen to keep the visitors at bay.
Into the second half and the same pattern of play continued with Golds mainly in control. There were also some strange refereeing decisions that affected both sides. With twenty minutes left on the clock a mix up in the home defence gave Huet the chance to settle the match. His strong low shot into the left of goal made our longest trip very worthwhile.
We will now concentrate on each match as it comes along.
